In a nutshell: A rewardingly full and fruit filled Austrian Riesling from the Kamptal region.
The lowdown: The south facing terraced hillside vineyards for this wine are in the Gaisberg sub-region of Kamptal and is an ideal are for Riesling. It has a mix of ripe peachy and sweet quince aromas with a touch of citrus that follow throufh to the palate. Alltogether it has a quite full and rich mouthfeel and excellent balance of acidity giving it a definite opulence.
When to drink: A natural partner to asian food, or rich seafood dishes.
Allram, based near Hadersdorf am Kamp, has been one of the leading wineries of the Kamptal for decades, with holdings of Riesling and Grüner Veltliner in the famous vineyards of Heiligenstein, Gaisberg and Renner.
For the owners Michaela and Erich Haas-Allram, the main factor of producing exceptional wines is to be found already in the vineyards. The cellar is now run by Lorenz, the new generation. His goal is to harvest the very best fruit, show real varietal character and to produce wines with intensity and finesse.
