The lowdown:
Made with grapes from old low yielding bush vines aimed to obtain fruit with a real richness and depth. This wine has been aged for 16 months in French oak, 50% new, and has had 20 months cellaring in bottle. The colour is an almost Burgundian red, but the nose has intense red cherry aromas with a subtle spiciness. On the palate it's smooth with freshness to the ripe cherry flavours, elegant spices, and fresh, ripe tannins.
When to drink:
Complex, smooth and very rewarding, it would suit roast game down to a tee.
