In a nutshell:
A well known South African Semillon that's very complex and rewarding.
Along with their reds Boekenhoutskloof have also made quite a name for themselves with this, their flagship white. It's made from fruit grown in some of the country's oldest vineyards which are low yielding and produce grapes with real concentration and structure. On the nose lemon zest, white peach, roasted spice and floral aromas lead to a rich, flavoursome and intense palate of citrus fruits, white peach, tangerine, nutty notes, ginger and brioche. It's a definitively bold wine with a weighty texture balanced by crisp, focused acidty.
When to drink:
And while it's got plenty of ageing potential it's drinking really well now.
