A real treat, this a a carefully oaked, ripe and generous Californian Chardonnay.
This is a big, well balanced Chardonnay unashamedly made in the classic Californian way but without being a caricature of the style. 50% is fermented and aged for 9 months in new American oak while the other half is vinified in stainless steel which helps lay flavour upon flavour creating a complex wine with a generous character. The oak led nose shows a touch of butterscotch and sweet spice. And what follows is plump and rounded on the palate with ripe stone fruit, pineapple and ginger flavours and a good balancing acidity on the tongue.
When to drink:
A big hearted wine that suits things like poultry and feathered games dishes superbly.
