DESCRIPTION
A delicious, fruity and slightly spicy, medium-bodied, Sicilian red.
The lowdown:
With aromas of ripe plum and black cherry. The grapes for this are grown around the town of Riesi in Sicily, the heartland of the Nero d'Avola grape. It's bottled young and fresh without any oak ageing. It's deeply coloured, full-flavoured and, spicy with perfumed aromas of wild strawberry and black cherry. The palate combines abundant brambly fruit flavours with lightly smoky and savoury notes, a hint of bitter chocolate and structured tannins.
When to drink:
A splendid fruity glugger that goes brilliantly with juicy burgers or meaty pasta dishes.
Suitable for Vegans
PRODUCER
Adria Vini

Established in 2003, Adria Vini is a winemaking venture jointly owned by Boutinot and Araldica Castelvero, the leading co-operative in the Monferrato hills of Piemonte.
Their aim is to produce authentic, well-priced still and sparkling wines from local grape varieties. All aspects of production, from grape selection through to vinification, maturation, blending and bottling are meticulously overseen by Araldica's winemaking team of Claudio Manera and Lella Burdese - assisted by Boutinot's Tony Brown MW.
Grapes are sourced from a range of private growers and cooperatives, with whom they've built long term relationships, principally in Veneto, Friuli, Lombardy, Sicily, Puglia, Abruzzo and Sardinia.
