A full-bodied, complex, biodynamic white from from the prestigious Rhône appellation of Hermitage.
The small appellation of Hermitage in the northern Rhône Valley is better known for its reds but it also produces a very small amount of very high quality whites as well. And this biodynamic cuvée from Michel Chapoutier is one of the best of all. Made from 100% Marsanne a third was vinified in large wooden vats to give body without being overpowering. It has a palate of white currant, honeysuckle, toasted almond, tropical fruits and rich citrus and finishes off with a rich and lengthy finish.
The 2012 is now ready to drink and in great form. It'll continue to be immensely enjoyable well into the late 2020's.
