The lowdown:
The revival of interest in the wines of Condrieu in the 1970s is really what has lead to the increased popularity of Viognier throughout the world. This aromatic grape is the only variety permitted here and the unique combination of its subtle perfume and generous weightiness have made Condrieu a sought after wine in recent decades. Close Boucher has a pleasing light gold in colour while its nose shows deep aromas reminiscent of exotic fruit and crystallised peach. This is a very concentrated wine which produces a lots of intense, ripe flavours on the palate. The subtle use of oak serves to enhance it's silky smooth texture.
When to drink:
It's the perfect white to match with bold and spicy dishes, or rich sauces combined with fish or poultry.
