DESCRIPTION
An intense and really fruity Montepulciano from the Italian region of Abruzzo on the Adriatic.
The lowdown:
After pressing the grapes for this were left in contact with the wine for 10 days for optimum extraction and the wine was then matured in oak barrels for over 6 months. The palate is richly flavoured with dry, lightly smoky notes at the beginning followed by concentrated dark and red cherry fruit, coffee and bitter chocolate and a complex, savoury finish. This delightfully fruity, full-flavoured red has an intense nose of cherry, plum and earthy spice.
When to drink:
Rich and robust this one that over delivers for the price. A perfect pasta wine.
Suitable for Vegans
PRODUCER
Adria Vini

Established in 2003, Adria Vini is a winemaking venture jointly owned by Boutinot and Araldica Castelvero, the leading co-operative in the Monferrato hills of Piemonte.
Their aim is to produce authentic, well-priced still and sparkling wines from local grape varieties. All aspects of production, from grape selection through to vinification, maturation, blending and bottling are meticulously overseen by Araldica's winemaking team of Claudio Manera and Lella Burdese - assisted by Boutinot's Tony Brown MW.
Grapes are sourced from a range of private growers and cooperatives, with whom they've built long term relationships, principally in Veneto, Friuli, Lombardy, Sicily, Puglia, Abruzzo and Sardinia.
