DESCRIPTION
A big, structured, biodynamic red Cullen are one of the quality heavyweights of Margaret River in Western Australia; one of the oldest and most awarded family wineries, and all their wines are certified biodynamic. The grapes for this red come from their Mangan Vineyard and is a blend of Petit Verdot and Malbec matured for 17 months in seasoned French oak. Vibrant deep purple in the glass with aromas of floral rose and violet with dark fruit and chocolate notes. A big, structured palate with fine tannins and a long, lingering finish of bitter chocolate and hints of spice.

In early 1965 Kevin and Diana started considering other uses for their land, and they came up with the idea of lupins. They decided to get in touch with Dr John Gladstones who they had known for some time, who was at the time senior lecturer at the University of Western Australia and had studied lupins in his postgraduate research.
A little known fact about the Cullen family is that their association with wine in Western Australia dates back to the 1880s. Kevin Cullen's grandfather, Ephraim Mayo Clarke (1846-1921), purchased a small business and plot of land in Bunbury, West Australia, where he started a store and winery.
