In a nutshell:
Pale gold in colour, dry, nutty and delicate Madeira. (Half Bottle)
Made predominantly from Tinta Negra Mole grapes the fermenting juice is fortified before undergoing a maturation process unique to Madeira - the Estufa system. During a period of around 3 months the wine is gradually heated to over 40°C before being allowed to cool. After this it's aged for three years in oak before bottling. The result is a pale coloured wine, light bodied and nicely balanced with flavours of caramelized fruit and figs and a clean acidity.
When to drink:
Its tangy and nutty character make it an excellent aperitif, best served slightly below room temperature. It'll also go well with soups when accompanying the first course of a meal.
