In a nutshell: A fresh and resinous, hazy pale ale from Cornwall's Firebrand Brewing Co.
The lowdown: One of their summer seasonals this glorious pale ale is full of palate pleasing mango, citrus and pine flavours. Loaded with Citra, Apollo and Mosaic hops it's bright and floral and at just 4.2% it's not too heavy but still chock full of flavour.
Style - Bitter, Pale Ale & IPA ABV 4.2% - Moderate Strength
After founding Penpont Brewery in 2008 which has gone on to become a highly respected 'traditional style' Cornish Brewer Joe Thompson decided to branch out further in 2014 with Firebrand Brewing which is a modern style craft beer operation. Both enterprises are among the most successful of Cornish breweries which is borne out by the fact that most of their production finds its way out of the south west and across the Uk and beyond.
Firebrand produce beers from hopped packed IPAs to great session strength Pale Ales all of which have something of an American influence. Joe's undoubted skill and evident passion for brewing mean that his beers are some of the most sought after toi come out this south west corner of the country.
