In a nutshell: A herbal. Zesty and spicy Spanish gin made with Mediterranean botanicals.
The lowdown: Spain is a country that takes its gin seriously and, as a nation, they are one of the worlds major consumers of it. Gin Mare is made to capture the essence of the Mediterranean and uses Italian basil, Turkish thyme, Greek Rosemary and Arbequina olives from Spain. It's quite soft and aromatic with herbal notes on the nose, juniper and a zesty citrus feel on the palate and a spicy zingy finish.
Spain is one of the biggest gin drinking and producing countries in the world and Gin Mare which first hit the market in 2007 is a product led by the nation's passion for the drink. It's origins lie in the small fishing village of Vilanove just outside Barcelona and it was the brainchild of Mark and Manuel Giro of the famous Spansh distilling family, Giro Ribot.
