A subtly smoky and richly flavoured 18 Year Old Island Single malt aged finished in red wine casks.
The lowdown:
Matured for eighteen years in American White Oak ex-bourbon barrels and finished in Premier Grand Cru Classé Bordeaux barrels to add a layer of fruity richness this is one of the pinnacles of Jura's core range expressions. The nose exudes aromas of creamy vanilla, toffee and chocolate while on the palate there a soft minerality surrounding the soft spices and fruitcake richness behing which there's a whiff of smokiness. It finishes with candied fruits and hints of smokiness that very slowly fade away.
