La Gitana Manzanilla - 50cl NV

Manzanilla is a very pale, light and dry style of Sherry made in the coastal town of Sanlúcar de Barrameda that faces Cadiz. And La Gitana The Gipsy from Bodegas Hidalgo is a well loved and very reliable example of the style. Bracingly fresh, but with textured nutty and apply layers there's a whole lot going here which warrants its deserved reputation.

Perfect served well chilled as an aperitif it also goes well all sorts of first courses of a meal.

Established in 1792, Bodegas Hidalgo is one of the oldest Sherry producers in existence and is often regarded as the de?nitive Manzanilla house. Ever innovative, Bodegas Hidalgo pioneered an aged, single vineyard ‘Pasada Pastrana’ Manzanilla, and an un?ltered ‘En Rama’ version of their La Gitana Manzanilla, released twice a year to coincide with the ?or cycle.
