In a nutshell:
A richly sweet and peaty Islay single malt that packs a real punch.
Lagavulin's Distiller's edition malts are always something to look out for and the 2001 vintage, which was bottled in 2017, is proving one of the most popular of all. Double cask matured this was finished in sweet, sticky Pedro Ximenez sherry casks and yields a robust combination of classic Islay salty peat smoke and intense sherried sweetness which finishes with a long, lingering and surprisingly mellow sign off.
A smoky, peat-rich and irresistibly moreish single malt.
