Located in the village of Vlezenbeek in the Flemish Brabant region southwest of Brussels, Lindemans is still fiercely independent and family owned. With its farmhouse origins dating back to 1822, Lindemans might be considered the masters of lambic beers. This style of beer differs from others as it is top fermented via exposure to yeast and bacteria native only to the Zenne valley. Whilst most breweries place particular importance on their local water, it is the surrounding environment that proves so important in generating the unique style found at Lindemans. Faro is considered Lindemans signature beer, but their fruit beers are likewise internationally famous the base beer of which is similarly brewed under lambic conditions.
