A really very well balanced 1er Cru Meursault from Henri Darnat's monople vineyard Clos Richemont.
The lowdown:
Harvested at full ripeness Darnat's wines always have a full character while never lacking in freshness. This cuvee spends 12 months in mainly new oak - Henri prefers his oak from the Vosges region of France - followed by a further 6 months in stainless steel prior to bottling. This gives it an ideal balance between crisp citrus, steely minerality and a welcoming butteriness.
When to drink:
With its rich opulence it's an ideal match for veal, poultry or feathered game.
