DESCRIPTION
A biodynamic Sicilian white made by Arianna Occhipinti A biodynamic Sicilian white made by Arianna Occhipinti, the niece of Giusto of COS fame. Arianna says the phrase that guides her in her wine making is that of Saint-Exupery: "We do not inherit the land from our ancestors; we borrow it from our children." She believes the first thing is to accept. The soils, the topography, the altitude, the originality of the vineyard. Her wines respect the place from which they have come, Vittoria in southern Sicily. Minimal to no added sulphur is used along with no chemicals or additions in the vineyard or winery and the wine is unfiltered. Clean and earthy, lots of acidity with apple and stone fruit flavours along with a chalkiness on the palate. A wine to be enjoyed with food and people!

It all started sixteen years ago in Fossa di Lupo. A magical place where the earth, which turns red in the evening and is combed by the wind coming from the Iblei, leans on one side of a road, the SP68. A highway like many others, but with a unique history. It was once made of stone, a little narrower than a path; three thousand years ago it connected Gela to Kamarina, it travelled - as today - the roads of Cerasuolo di Vittoria, and from Caltagirone, it continued for Catania and Lentini. There, squeezed between heaven and earth, the line of that road also marked Arianna Occhipinti's destiny.
