In a nutshell:
A smoky, honeyed and spicy, strongly peated Indian single malt matured in ex-bourbon barrels.
Paul John Bold is made using peat shipped from Islay to their distillery in Goa before the spirit is matured in bourbon barrels. The smoky aromas are balanced with a bit of hay, citrus and dark sugar while on the palate there are rich oaky notes and a touch of dark coffee while the Islay peat subtly asserts its influence. And on the lingering finish a touch of pepperiness weighs in to round it all off. It's a really interesting and well made peated whisky.
