In a nutshell: An approachable and perfectly balanced northern Portuguese red.
The lowdown: Made with a blend of traditional Iberian grapes this is a fruity, medium bodied, easy-drinking red with really pleasant wood spice and black pepper notes. The six months spent in barrel have given it smooth, fine tannins which balance the black cherry and raspberry flavours nicely.
When to drink: A nice stand alone drink which also goes well with poultry or pork.
Started in 2010 by a winemaker and wine buyer who felt there was an opening to bring some lesser known Portuguese wines to greater attention. Since then they've been working with growers and winemakers across Portugal to create a range of wines that express the characteristics of their area of origin whilst delivering excellent quality and value for money.
