A crisp and zesty Slovenian Sauvignon Blanc.
It's a country with a long winemaking tradition that extends further back than Roman times, but where the twentieth century saw it's reputation slip behind many western European countries. Happily, things are now on the up. Sauvingon Blanc, while not a native grape here, is one that certainly thrives in the Slovenian climate. Here it makes it makes a crisp, medium bodied wine with a fine minerality that sits nicely alongside the citrus, gooseberry and passion fruit aromas.
Great on it's own as an aperitif or try with seafood, poultry, or a goats cheese salad.
