A stunning, big, rich, full bodied Primitivo from Salento, Puglia in the heel of Italy.
Made from southern Puglia's signature grape the 'Primitivo di Manduria' DOP produces some of the best expressions of this variety. After fermentation it's matured for 18 months in a mix of French and American oak which gives it several layers of texture. There are lots of dark, ripe, deep fruit flavours, sweet spice, vanilla, cinnamon, cloves, dark chocolate and coffee all lying within. While quite powerful it's well balanced with fine tannins and a good length.
Dense and fleshy this is the perfect thing for game and red meats.
