In a nutshell:
An elegant, refreshing and crisp Sancerre Rosé from the Loire Valley.
Based in the village of Verdigny near the hilltop town of Sancerre, André Dezat et Fils is one of the most highly regarded producers in the region. Their whites are outstanding, their reds multi-award winners. This stunning rose is from young Pinot Noir vines and is perhaps more similar to its siblings - the light reds of Sancerre, rather than the pale and watery or fruit bomb nature of some other roses. The vast majority of Sancerre is planted with Sauvignon Blanc however small amounts are planted with Pinot Noir, of which a small proportion is used to make high quality and serious rosés. This example is among the best.
When to drink:
Deliciously light it's perfect for summer picnics and also goes well with fish dishes featuring salmon, or trout.
