Serafini & Vidotto Phigaia 2017

Italy has an amazing number of local varieties but also produces some smashing reds made from 'international' varieties. Up in the Veneto region Serafini and Vidotto have created a super expression of a cabernet and merlot blend. Rich and fruity notes of Amarena and sour cherries and blackcurrants followed by elegant herbal nuances, pepper, coffee and vanilla bean. Fresh and elegant in the mouth with ripe tannins and a spicy softness. We were impressed with this one.
