A succulent, juicy and very drinkable South Australian red.
The lowdown:
For each vintage Tabula Rasa wines are made with a selection of South Australian fruit that's really thrived during that season thus ideal for a making juicy and welcoming wine which is exactly the objective here. For 2018 three quarters of the blend is ripe and brambly Grenache sourced mainly from McLaren Vale along with a little Shiraz, Mataro and Carignan. It might be 14.5% ABV, but still has a nicely mellow body and is deliciously drinkable. Made with as little intervention as possible it's lip-smackingly crunchy, full of vibrant black cherry fruit and with a touch of exotic spiciness on the finish.
When to drink:
In an eye catching 500ml, crown capped bottle put in the fridge fo half an hour before serving and it'll be perfect with either grilled meats from the barbie, or a pizza in front of the TV.
