DESCRIPTION
A hoppy, citrusy and gluten free IPA from the Westerham Brewery in west Kent.
The lowdown:
Brewed by Westerham on behalf of the National Trust you might see on sale in a few gift shops. Nonetheless it's a great bottle conditioned IPA, not too alcoholic, but with the sheer hoppy and marmalade intensity that is a hallmark of this style of beer.
Style - IPA ABV 5.0% - Moderate Strength
Suitable for Vegans, Gluten Free
PRODUCER
Westerham Brewery Co

With its establishment in 2004 by Robert Wicks the Westerham Brewery Company brought back the art of brewing to the west Kent town of Westerham. In doing so they revived the area's rich brewing heritage and many of the beers they produce hark back to the much loved flavours of the town's Black Eagle Brewery which closed in 1965.
The local water of this part of Kent which percolates through the Lower Greensand Ridge is excellent for brewing pale bitters for which for which breweries over the years have earned their reputation. Appropriately enough for a Kent brewery they source over 90% of their hops from Kentish hop gardens. They've built a particularly close relationship with the farms of the Scotney Castle Estate in Lamberhurst.
