In a nutshell:
Rich and full bodied Japanese Single Malt.
First released in 2014 this, one of their more recent expressions, is aged in a mix of Bordeaux wine and Sherry casks which gives it a richness and delightful red berry notes. There's also just a hint of floral oakiness from the portion of the blend aged in Mizunara casks. The aromas are certainly extensive and complex while the flavours on the palate are nicely understated. It finishes with a small flourish of vanilla and sweet cinnamon.
An excellent example of Yamazaki's expertise and good value too.
