DESCRIPTION

In a nutshell:
A ripe and juicy Sicilian Nero d'Avola with lots of fresh black fruits, violets, spice, and soft, supple tannins.

The lowdown:
From relatively young vines, the vineyards having been planted in 2005, this is a well balanced, good value wine that has a nice weight to it which quite impressed us when we tasted it. A comfortingly warm feeling wine whose bright berry flavours and wildflower hints last long in the mouth.

When to drink:
Great with chilli con carne.

The vineyards of this property in southwestern Sicily caught the eye and winemaking talents of the renowned Valentino Sciotti.

Valentino (of Gran Sasso and Vesevo) saw that they had great vineyards and a good winery, but were missing the necessary expertise to make wines that the market required.
