Description
In a nutshell:
A ripe and invitingly drinkable dry white from Western Sicily.
The lowdown:
Catarratto is the main white wine variety of these parts; it thrives in the warm Sicilian climate and can produce characterful and aromatic wines like here. The fruit for this comes from high altitude, hillside vineyards and is fermented carefully to keep its essential up front fruitiness intact. A short period ageing on its lees also brings in a layer of richness. It has attractive aromatics of peach, honeysuckle and a hint of fennel while the rounded and gently honeyed flavours on the palate are balanced nicely by the lemony acidity.
Producer Adria Vini's aim is to produce authentic, well-priced still and sparkling wines from local grape varieties from all across Italy especially in Veneto, Friuli, Lombardy, Sicily, Puglia, Abruzzo and Sardinia. All aspects of production, from grape selection through to vinification, maturation, blending and bottling are meticulously overseen by their skilled winemaking team and their expertise speaks for itself in their invariably excellent wines.
When to drink:
A real 'any occasion', crowd pleaser and great with grilled fish, salads and cold meats.
Suitable for Vegans
