Made in the heart of Normandy's Calvados region this award winning VSOP Calvados is aged for a minimum of 4 years in Limousin oak barrels before bottling. With notes of apples, vanilla and spice on the nose and complex flavours of honey, baked apples and pastry it's amply fruit filled and structured. Well rounded in the mouth, yet with a lightness and freshness that give it a clean satisfying finish. Great with the cheeseboard after dinner.
Calvados, one of the worlds ?nest spirits, has been produced in the historic French region of Normandy for at least ?ve centuries. The Calvados Berneroy Master Blender employs time-honoured methods, and ?nely honed expertise to create a range of distinctively fruity calvados, capturing the very essence of the local orchards.
Over 180 named apple varieties are authorized for use in the making of Calvados Berneroy. These traditional cider apples are grown in the lush green fields of Normandy and harvested at the peak of ripeness, from mid-September to the end of November. The precious fruits are then washed, crushed, and pressed to produce an aromatic fresh apple must or juice.
