In a nutshell: A strong and complex bottle conditioned ale from Fuller's Brewery of Chiswick
The lowdown: First brewed in 1995 to commemorate 150 years of the Fuller, Smith & Turner partnership, and since then it's become a firm favourite. Bottle conditioned and matured for at least 100 days before release, its a wonderfully complex and full bodied ale.
One of London's most famous breweries Fullers still brews its highly regarded range of beers at the Griffin Brewery in Chiswick - something of a prominent local landmark being just by the busy Hogarth roundabout on the main A4 route into central London.
In fact beer has been brewed here since as far back as the seventeenth century, but it was in 1845 that it became Fuller, Smith & Turner and developed into one of the capital's leading breweries. In 2019 the business was acquired by the giant Japanese drinks company Asahi Breweries but, happily, production of Fullers' renowned range remains at Chiswick and there no plans to change this.
