The Maggio family have been growing wine in Lodi, since the late 1920s, but it wasnt until just over twenty years ago, when they bought that winery that they used to send their fruit to that they started to produce their own wines. Since then the business, in the hands of Rudy Maggio and his three daughters, has gone from strength to strength and the now have a around 1,000 hectares of vineyards throughout Californias Lodi region.
When to drink:
Pair it with a hearty, slow-cooked stew or a perfectly grilled ribeye, for a culinary match made in heaven.
