Description
Traditional & West Coast Style IPA
England: Derbyshire
Vegan - ABV 5.9% - 2 Pints
In a Nutshell:
A bold, citrus-led IPA with six American hops and a firm, steady bitterness.
The Lowdown:
Among fans of West Coast-style IPAs, Jaipur has fairly cult status, which is no great mystery if you're into hops. The mix of six American varieties shows itself straight off with citrus peel, a bit of orange and a light pine edge. The malt keeps a low profile, steady enough to support things without adding weight. Bitterness builds gradually and settles into a clean, firm line that holds the beer together. It's a clear, hop-driven IPA with plenty of definition.
The Brewery:
From small beginnings in 2005, Thornbridge have grown to become one of the country's most influential independent brewers. For all that they're relative newcomers, there's something about their style and consistency that makes them feel almost part of England's established brewing heritage. Jaipur IPA is their undoubted flagship, but they've built a whole family of beers that regular drinkers now treat as fixtures too. All of it still comes from their picturesque base in Derbyshire's Peak District.
