Description
Brown, Mild & Old Ale
England: East Sussex
ABV 5.6% - 20.0 Litres
In a Nutshell:
A malt-led winter-season Old Ale with roasted depth, nutty richness and a clean, steady bitterness.
The Lowdown:
Classic Old Ale - a darker, fuller beer built on rich malt and winter warmth. Three Acre focus on the style's traditional depth, with roasted and caramelised malts giving chestnut, toffee and toasted-grain character. The hops add an earthy, lightly resinous edge that brings a spruce-like note rather than anything too spiced. It stays rounded, not heavy, with malt leading and the bitterness landing cleanly at the finish.
The Brewery:
"Modernising the traditional" is a pretty spot-on way to describe Three Acre Brewery. Tucked away near Uckfield in the Sussex countryside, they're all about giving cask ale brewing a fresh spin - sticking to the classic methods combined with modern know-how. The result is beers that are easy to enjoy but never boring. It all started in 2019 with Chester, Jamie, and Peter - three mates who turned their home-brewing hobby into something serious and they've not looked back since.
