The lowdown: Oude Gueuze is a blend of old and young lambic beers which are bottled prior to a second fermentation and further maturation.
In Timmerman's Oude Gueze the old lambic have been aged for three years in wooden barrels and the resulting beer has an amazingly fruity taste which contrasts well with the characteristic slightly sour flavour which is the essence of this style of beer.

Timmermans are a lambic brewery based in Itterbeek just a few miles from the centre of Brussels. Location is absolutely vital to the success of Timmermans who’s lambic ales are open fermented with natural yeasts and micro-organisms only found in their region of the Senne Valley. To this end there are only a handful of Belgian lambic brewers most of which share a long history of unchanged recipes found at Timmermans which dates back to 1702.
