Description
West Coast Style Pale Ale
England: London
ABV 3.8% - 44.0cl
In a Nutshell:
A light bodied, low alcohol, easy drinking table beer from south Londons Wimbledon Brewery.
The Lowdown:
A historic style, Table Beers are now seeing an increase in demand due to their easy drinking appeal and lower ABVs. Plumage Archer malt was used and brings body and backbone to the brew. Wheat and oat malts add gentle smoothness. Centennial, Taiheke, Rakau and Motueka hops, contribute floral, citrus and tropical fruit notes.
The Brewery:
Wimbledon has a brewing history stretching back to the Middle Ages, but the modern Wimbledon Brewery began in 2014, founded by Mark Gordon. After a career in the City, he set out to brew high-quality English beer in his home town and brought in experienced brewer Derek Prentice, formerly of Youngs, Trumans and Fullers. These days you'll find the brewery close to the site of the medieval Merton Priory just south of the town.
