Champagne Pierre Mignon is a family owned house located in Le Breuil in the Marne Valley. Over several generations, the family estate has grown significantly with vineyards in the Marne Valley itself and the Côte des Blancs and Épernay. They produce stylish Champagnes with a fresh, vibrant character, all of which are made in their own cellars where they're able to enure a painstaking level of attention to detail and quality.
Their vineyards extend to just 18 hectare and plantings are mainly of Pinot Meunier which makes up half the total along with 40% Chardonnay and some Pinot Noir making up the rest. All grapes are hand picked.
In order to continually improve quality there's a very strict selection process for the grapes and pressed juices, with a meticulous settling stage and rigorous control of the fermentations. This extreme care taken over the production of the wines reduces the need for filtration, thereby preserving all of the flavour for the subsequent blends. Jean-Charles Mignon, son of Pierre, is in charge of viticulture and winemaking and creates the Maisons characterful range of Champagnes and regularly produce interesting and elegant new Cuvées.
