DESCRIPTION
A light, easy drinking Italian red from the hills around Verona.
The lowdown:
Corvina is the grape used to make Valpolicella, one of the region's specialities, which is harmoniusly blended here with Merlot to gives you a soft and easy drinking wine with a nose full of spiced raspberry fruit. Eager to please, it's brimming over with cherry, cranberry and mint.
When to drink:
Altogether a smooth little number which wont break the bank and just wants to go out and party.
Suitable for Vegans
PRODUCER
Ponte Pietra

Ponte Pietra wines are made by by the prolific and talented Matt Thomson at the Cantina di Monteforte in between Verona and Padua. The name refers to Verona's 'Ponte Pietra' (stone bridge) that dates back to Roman times, although vines have been planted on the hills outside of Verona for much longer than this bridge has spanned the Adige River.
The wines he makes are fruit forward and expressive. The white is lifted and fresh with lovely balance on the palate while the red is Veronese in style, zesty, fresh, cherryish and unoaked. The Rosato has an attractive pale pink colour derived from a brief period of contact with the skins of the red grapes. Above all they offer exceptional value for money.
